USPS Operation Santa open for letter adoption starting Nov. 17
By Linn’s Staff
The United States Postal Service announced Nov. 17 that its Operation Santa program is now open for letter adoption for the 2025 holiday season.
“Starting today [Nov. 17], individuals, families, workplaces and community groups can go to USPSOperationSanta.com to adopt letters to Santa and help make the holidays brighter for children and families across the country,” the Postal Service said in a statement.
“We invite the public to join us in spreading holiday cheer by adopting a USPS Operation Santa letter,” Sheila Holman, vice president of marketing for the USPS, said. “Every year, we receive far more letters than those adopting. So if you have the means, we encourage you to adopt a letter.”
New this year, Operation Santa is offering the option for adopters to select family letters, allowing participants to provide gifts for an entire household at once. In addition, the USPS has expanded its online “Santa’s Gift Shoppe,” giving adopters access to a wide range of toys, clothing, books and more that can be purchased and shipped directly.
Registration for adopters began Nov. 3, and the adoption period runs from Nov. 17 through Dec. 13. The USPS recommends mailing packages containing gifts by Dec. 13 to help ensure on-time holiday delivery.Connect with Linn’s Stamp News:
