New editor for Royal Philatelic Society London journal

The Royal Philatelic Society London announced Dec. 8 that Nina Jaaskelainen will take over the role as editor of its journal The London Philatelist effective Jan. 1, 2026.

“I feel huge gratitude and humility at being given the opportunity to serve the members of the Royal Philatelic Society London, as well as the readers of the distinguished and honorable journal The London Philatelist, throughout the whole philatelic world,” Jaaskelainen said.

Jaaskelainen replaces Tony Bard as editor of the journal. “Tony has made an invaluable contribution to the Society over the past six years, for which it is most grateful,” the press release said. “The Society wishes him every success in his future philatelic and editorial endeavors.”

The press release said that Jaaskelainen brings a modern perspective to the challenge of rapidly changing communication technology.

The London Philatelist is published 10 times per year for members of the Royal Philatelic Society London. More information on the society can be found online at www.rpsl.org.uk.
